I am one person. A single entity in a sea of entities. If I were to depart my body for a moment and rise into the air, up and up and up, and then look down at my physical form from this new vantage point…I’d be a speck indistinguishable from the masses.
Is that such a bad thing?
We all move through the rhythms of everyday life. Over time, our actions take on the same patterns. These patterns are things formed by our needs for survival. We act to meet those needs; we ensure our bodies continue to function. These repeated actions give us a reason to live. Maybe these shared patterns are engrained within us and are essentially what define us as “living”? So just like everyone else, I am preoccupied by the things I need to do, things that will allow me to continue living.
I’ll take advantage of this distraction that we all share. I can travel through time, be myself, and not have to worry about what anyone else thinks.
After all, if we’re all so similar, surely a part of each and every one of us sees me in the exact same light?
